In an interview today on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM satellite radio show, Jon Bon Jovi was asked about his band Bon Jovi’s failure to get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The group has been eligible since 2008 and has only been nominated once (in 2011). This year’s nominees list, announced Oct. 18, once again does not include Bon Jovi.

“I couldn’t be as honest as I’d like to be,” Bon Jovi started by saying, after Stern asked him. But what he then said seemed pretty honest, though he stopped short of naming names.

“The criteria is actually that your music had an influence on generations that came after you, and that it’s still out and very present. Yeah, we have every criteria.

“I had a big falling out with one of the guys that runs (the hall).”

Stern asked if it was Jann Wenner, the publisher of Rolling Stone magazine as well as the chairman of the Rock Hall Foundation.

Bon Jovi didn’t say yes or no, but did say: “I called (the guy I had a falling out with) a few choice words, and I’m never shy, when I see him, to call him a few more choice words. And there’s other guys on that thing that have made it their personal mission to fuck with me. And that’s okay. I get it. I’ve sold more records than their artists.”

Bon Jovi was then asked if the system is rigged.

“I don’t know anything about the system being rigged … That’s okay. It is what it is.”

Stern then asked “who would argue” with the band’s credentials.

“These two fuckers in the room,” Bon Jovi replied.

The band releases a new album, This House Is Not for Sale, Nov. 4.

Bon Jovi has been a extreme success these past 30 some years. They drserve to be in that Hall of Fame. For the people who have been blind they need to really open up their eyes already and see Jon and this amazing band for who they are. People love them and follow them to every concert they have. I’m going to the one in Sunrise, Florida Feb. 12, 2017 with great up front seats like I always get year after year. Bon Jovi is the best band out there ! They should be recognized !
