The Two River Theater in Red Bank will present an evening of conversation featuring veteran actors Alec Baldwin and Kevin Kline, June 20 at 8 p.m. The show will be recorded for WNYC Studios’ podcast, “Here’s the Thing,” which Baldwin hosts.
Seats are priced from $75 to $350, with the most expensive tickets including admission to a pre-show, 6:30 p.m. reception with Baldwin and Kline. There are also sponsorship packages available from $1,000 to $10,000. All proceeds will support Two River Theater programs.
In a press release, “Here’s the Thing” was described as “a podcast series of intimate and honest conversations hosted by Alec Baldwin. Baldwin talks with artists, policy makers and performers — to hear their stories, what inspires their creations, what decisions changed their careers, and what relationships influenced their work.”
Recent episodes have featured people like former U.S. congressman Anthony Weiner, Coalition for the Homeless president Mary Brosnahan and actors Molly Ringwald and Mickey Rourke, in conversation with Baldwin.
The Two River Theater’s last production, an ambitious reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s rarely performed “Pericles,” closed earlier this month. Next month, it will present both “I Remember Mama,” based on Kathryn Forbes’ 1943 novel “Mama’s Bank Account,” June 4-26 in its Joan and Robert Rechnitz Theater; and the children’s play, “Where the Wild Things Are,” adapted from Maurice Sendak’s bestselling book, June 9-12 in its smaller Marion Huber Theater.
The “Here’s the Thing” taping will take place in the 349-capacity Rechnitz Theater, on an off night for “I Remember Mama.”
