The next installment in NJ PBS’s “Soundcheck” series will feature Third Eye Blind — filmed in March at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, performing songs such as “Never Let You Go,” “Jumper” and “Semi-Charmed Life” — as well as an interview with the band’s frontman, Stephan Jenkins. You can watch a trailer for it HERE.
Jenkins’ friend Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, who made songwriting and arranging contributions to the band’s 2019 album Screamer, is also interviewed by “Soundcheck” host Jen Eckert.
The show will be seen on NJ PBS and stream on njpbs.org/live at 9:30 p.m. May 16, with the full episode posted on the NJ PBS “Soundcheck” page, later.
“I love the Wellmont,” Jenkins says in the show. “When you’re playing for 2,000 people, everybody here knows every song. And so, you can change it up. And it keeps us feeling fresh.”
Previous episodes of “Soundcheck” were filmed at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank and featured artists such as Jake Shimabukuro, Beth Hart and Debbie Gibson.
