The Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music at Monmouth University in West Long Branch — which hosted a day-long 50th anniversary symposium and concert celebrating Bruce Springsteen’s debut album, Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J., in January — will do the same for Springsteen’s second album, The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle, on Oct. 28.

WIESS, as it is sometimes abbreviated, was released on Nov. 5, 1973.

No other information about the October event is currently available. For updates, visit springsteenarchives.org.

The January event, which took place at Monmouth University’s Pollak Theatre, included panel-discussion and musical appearances by original E Street Band members Garry Tallent, David Sancious and Vini Lopez, and excerpts from a filmed interview with Springsteen himself. Springsteen’s original manager, Mike Appel, WMMR-FM (Philadelphia) DJ David Dye and others also shared their memories.

The symposium-ending concert, which featured all the songs from Greetings, boasted a lineup that included Williams Honor, Anthony D’Amato, Jackson Pines and others, and ended with bassist Tallent, keyboardist Sancious and drummer Lopez backing singer-guitarist Pat Roddy on “Does This Bus Stop at 82nd Street?” and “It’s Hard to Be a Saint in the City.”
