Paper Mill Playhouse’s 2024-25 season will include ‘Jersey Boys,’ ‘Mystic Pizza’ musical

The Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn has announced its 2024-25 season, with the shows above.

The 2024-25 season of The Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn will include “Jersey Boys” — the hit jukebox musical about Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons — as well as “Disney’s The Little Mermaid” and a musical version of the 1988 Julia Robert film “Mystic Pizza,” featuring ’80s hits by artists such as Cyndi Lauper, Huey Lewis, Debbie Gibson, Bryan Adams and The Bangles.

Other offerings will include “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas” — featuring musical gems such as “Blue Skies,” “I Love a Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean?” and the title song — and the world premiere of “Take the Lead,” inspired by the 2006 film that starred Antonio Banderas as a ballroom dance instructor.

Nov. 27-Dec. 29: “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas.” Based on the film written by Norman Krasna, Norman Panama and Melvin Frank; music and lyrics by Irving Berlin; book by David Ives and Paul Blake; original stage production directed by Walter Bobbie.

Jan. 29-Feb. 23: “Mystic Pizza.” Book by Sandy Rustin; based on the film with story and characters by Amy Holden Jones; choreographed by Connor Gallagher; directed by Casey Hushion.

March 29-April 27, 2025: “Take the Lead” (world premiere). Book by Robert Cary and Jonathan Tolins; music and lyrics by Elliah Heifetz and Zeniba Now;based on the film written by Dianne Houston; directed and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli; co-choreographed by Jennifer Weber and Maria Torres.

May 29-June 29, 2025: “Disney’s The Little Mermaid.” Music by Alan Menken; lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater; book by Doug Wright; based on the Hans Christian Andersen story and the film written and directed by John Musker and Ron Clements.
