Stevie Van Zandt and other E Street Band members will participate in a benefit for Van Zandt’s educational TeachRock organization, Aug. 22 in Asbury Park. According to a message on TeachRock’s website, “Film director Thom Zimny will moderate TeachRock’s 2024 marquee benefit event, showing never before seen videos of the E Street Band and discussing stories from the road with band members.”
Max Weinberg, Roy Bittan and Garry Tallent will participate, as will photographers Pam Springsteen (Bruce’s sister), Rob DeMartin and Nicki Germaine (Tallent’s significant other). “Stories From the Road” will take place at Asbury Lanes at 7 p.m., with the “Pictures From the Road” pre-event at The Stone Pony, at 4:30 p.m.
Tickets are being sold in the form of $500-to-$25,000 sponsorship packages. For information, visit teachrock.org/sftr.
Aug. 22 is an E Street Band off-day between concerts at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Aug. 21 and 23.
According to the TeachRock website, the organization “has provided free, standards-aligned resources to help teachers, students, and families succeed for more than a decade.
