LENNY KAYE

Kaye — the singer-songwriter, guitarist, producer and author who co-founded The Patti Smith Group — will celebrate the diamond anniversary (60 years) of his career by playing songs from various stages of it, reading from his books, and telling stories. His latest book, 2021’s “Lightning Striking: Ten Transformative Moments in Rock and Roll,” explored 10 scenes that changed the course of rock history, including Liverpool in 1962, San Francisco in 1967 and Seattle in 1991.

Starlite and her band will perform The Rolling Stones’ 1968 album Beggars Banquet, which she calls a “cri de coeur for revolution, subversion of societal norms, and some courtesy for the demons within us.” The album’s best-known songs include “Sympathy for the Devil,” “Street Fighting Man,” “Stray Cat Blues” and “No Expectations.”

Your support of this concert will enable NJArts.net to continue playing its vital role in the state’s cultural ecosystem, with quality, independent coverage of music, theater, film, visual arts, dance and more. Founded in 2014, NJArts.net became a nonprofit organization in 2020.

The concert will take place at 8 p.m. at The First Congregational Church of Montclair. For tickets, visit ticketleap.com, and for more about the Outpost, visit outpostintheburbs.org.
