Free Union County Fall Festival in Clark to feature Fabulous Thunderbirds and others

The blues-rock band The Fabulous Thunderbirds, The Weight Band (featuring guitarist Jim Weider of The Band) and the Grateful Dead cover band Dead On Live will perform at the free Union County Fall Festival taking place at Oak Ridge Park in Clark, Sept. 14 from 4 to 10 p.m.

The event will also feature a micro beer garden, and food trucks. For information, visit ucnj.org/fall24.

The Fabulous Thunderbirds had hits such as “Tuff Enuff,” “Wrap It Up” and “Stand Back” in the ’80s. Their current lineup includes co-founder Kim Wilson on vocals and harmonica, Johnny Moeller on guitar, Bob Welsh on piano and guitar, Rudy Albin on drums, and Steve Kirsty on bass.

Their latest album Struck Down, released in June, includes guest appearances by Bonnie Raitt, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac, Taj Mahal and others.
