In honor of the 26th annual Crawfish Fest, taking place this weekend at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, today’s pick in the 350 Jersey Songs series is a tune that could be used as theme music for the festival: Tab Benoit’s “Crawfishin’,” as performed by him at the festival, two years ago. Check it out below.
Benoit isn’t in the lineup this year, but lots of other people are, including Dr. John, Anders Osborne, George Porter Jr. & The Runnin’ Pardners, Marc Broussard, Kermit Ruffins & The Barbeque Swingers, Geno Delafose & French Rockin’ Boogie and From Good Homes.

New Jersey celebrated its 350th birthday in 2014. And in the 350 Jersey Songs series, we marked the occasion by posting 350 songs — one a day, from September 2014 to September 2015 — that have something to do with the state, its musical history, or both. To see the entire list, click here.
