“I spent every summer from ages 12-18 starring in shows with BCCT,” said Remember Jones, in a press release. “To have the opportunity to raise funds and awareness for a group that introduced me to so many lifelong friends and lessons is a proud honor!”
Also, according to the press release, at the shows “Remember Jones will tell stories of the songs, as well as stories from his school days in Brick with many surprises!”
Jones will also present the “Jones Sings Jones!” show at House of Independents in Asbury Park, March 29. Visit houseofindependents.com.
And, coincidentally, Tom Jones himself — now 84 and still a dynamic concert act — has just announced an April 21 concert at The Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank. Tickets will go on sale Jan. 31 at noon; visit ticketmaster.com.
Live in Las Vegas was recorded at The Flamingo Hotel in the summer of 1969, and released later that year. It rose to No. 3 on Billboard magazine’s albums chart. Jones was at the height of his popularity around this time, with a television variety show of his own, “This Is Tom Jones.”
