The New Jersey Hall of Fame has announced its 60 nominees for this year, and is asking state residents to vote on them HERE. The deadline is April 15.
In the Performing Arts & Entertainment category, nominees include comedian and TV show host Uncle Floyd; legendary Latin musician Tito Puente; Rock and Roll Hall of Famers The Isley Brothers; Bon Jovi member and Tony-winning composer David Bryan; actresses Brooke Shields, Celeste Holm and Kirsten Dunst; singer Marilyn McCoo (of The 5th Dimension); television and film writer, director and producer James L. Brooks; and film producer Michael Uslan.
Other nominees include poet and activist Amiri Baraka, novelist Junot Díaz and composer George Theophilus Walker (all in Arts & Letters); physicist and “Oppenheimer” movie subject J. Robert Oppenheimer, sex researcher Alfred Kinsey and inventor and guitar-maker Phil Petillo (all in Education, Research, Engineering and Science); philanthropist Geraldine Dodge (in Public Service); and New York Jets wide receiver Wayne Chrebet and Olympics hurdling champion Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone (both in Sports).
