E Street Band members Max Weinberg and Vini Lopez will participate in a 40th anniversary tribute to Bruce Springsteen’s Born to Run album, Aug. 13 at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como.
This event, part of the club’s Thunder Road Thursday series, will also be a benefit, raising money to fight heroin use in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
Scott Warren — the brother of the event’s co-producer, Jesse Warren of Jesse James Productions — died of a heroin overdose in March. “The heroin addiction crisis in Monmouth and Ocean Counties has been building for many years and has, unfortunately, received national note,” said Jesse Warren in a press release. “A few months ago, it hit home — my home. We are all responsible to keep the issue front and center in our communities.”
Warren and the show’s co-producer, lawyer Terry Camp, last collaborated on the third annual “Big Man’s Birthday Bash,” honoring the late Clarence Clemons, at Bar Anticipation in January.
Among the many other participants in the tribute will be Eddie Testa (from The Eddie Testa Band), JoBonanno (from JoBonanno & the Godsons of Soul), “The Philly Elvis” Nick Ferraro (who has performed with Springsteen), Bob Polding (from The Bob Polding Band), Killer Joe (from Killer Joe and The Lido Soul), Joey Stann (from Southside Johnny’s Asbury Jukes) and Pat Roddy (from The Pat Roddy Band).
