The Historic Jersey City & Harsimus Cemetery is home to some goats this summer. They’re “an eco-friendly solution to eradicate invasive weeds,” Harsimus president Eileen Markenstein has said, plus they’re available to be petted by children.
On Sunday, the cemetery will host its first Goat-stock Festival fundraiser, from 2 to 9 p.m., with music, food vendors, tours (you can see an underground War of 1812 bunker) and … goats. $10 donations ($5 for seniors and children older than 5) will be requested of all attendees to support the historic site.
Here is the band schedule:
3 p.m.: Rock ‘n’ Roll Hi-Fives
3:50 p.m.: The Fave
4:40 p.m.: The Tribe of Uncles
5:10 p.m.: Lovari
5:30 p.m.: Sean Kiely
6:20 p.m.: The Porchistas
7:10 p.m.: Life in a Blender
8 p.m.: Sea of Otters
