Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers, who have already put tickets on sale for a Oct. 24 Stone Pony concert celebrating the 20th anniversary of their American Babylon album, have added a second show, Oct. 23. Tickets will go on sale Saturday at noon via ticketmaster.com, with pre-sales Friday at 10 a.m. on ticketmaster.com and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Pony box office.
Both nights will feature American Babylon in its entirety, and will be recorded for a future live album. Saxophonist Eddie Manion will be playing with the band on both nights.
Bruce Springsteen contributed greatly to American Babylon. The Boss produced it, co-wrote two songs (“Homestead” and “Dark and Bloody Ground”) and sang or played on eight of the 12 tracks. When the album came out, Springsteen became a temporary Houserocker, joining Grushecky for a mini-tour that began at the Pony.
Springsteen is not confirmed to participate in these shows. But it’s hard to imagine him staying away, if he can possibly make it.
