JOE WALSH

In late July, it became known that Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Joe Walsh will return to his alma mater, Montclair High School, on Oct. 3, to present a benefit concert in its auditorium. In an email sent out today by the Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence, more ticket details were announced.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Sept. 4 (not Sept. 1, as originally announced) through the mfee.org web site. According to the email, “anticipated ticket prices” are $200 and $100, with a limited number of $50 tickets. Some tickets will be reserved for students and sold at the high school.

There will also be a pre-concert party in the high school amphitheater. Proceeds from the concert will go towards library renovation at the school, and the creation of a media center.

Walsh played oboe in the high school band and graduated in 1965. He gained fame as a member of James Gang and as a solo artist before joining The Eagles.

The show will be part of the school’s 100th anniversary celebration.
