Sophia Loren to make rare onstage appearance at Count Basie Theatre

One of the living legends of world cinema, Sophia Loren, will be interviewed onstage and answer fan questions at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, March 17, in a show titled “An Evening With Sophia Loren.”

Tickets go on sale Oct. 9 at noon; they’re priced from $49 to $119, with a limited numbers of VIP tickets, including admission to a meet-and-greet session, priced at $425. Visit TheBasie.org.

Born in Rome and now living in Geneva, Loren is 81, and her last major film appearance was in “Nine,” in 2009.

In 1962, she won an Academy Award in the Best Actress category for “Two Women,” becoming the first artist to win an Oscar for a foreign language performance.

She also was given an honorary Oscar in 1991.
