The Exit Zero Jazz Festival is bringing a broad range of exceptional jazz, R&B, Blues, reggae and Latin acts to Cape May Nov. 6-8. And if you don’t believe me, check out some of the videos below, which accompany the festival lineup.
Shows — featuring everyone from veterans such as Pat Martino, Buster Williams and Bettye LaVette to relative newcomers such as Davina & the Vagabonds and Gal Holiday & the Honky Tonk Revue — take place at various venues around town, with some artists scheduled for two or more slots. The co-headliners are one of the jazz world’s leading ambassadors, Wynton Marsalis and his Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra on Nov. 7; and drummer Terri Lyne Carrington with her jazz/R&B “Mosaic Project,” featuring guests Valerie Simpson (of Ashford & Simpson fame) and Jaguar Wright, on Nov. 6.
Exit Zero is a biannual festival, taking place in the spring and the fall, and is now in its fourth year. To order tickets and get more information, visit ExitZeroJazzFestival.com.
Also, NJArts.net is giving away tickets to Carrington’s performance, as well as passes that are good for all sets except the ones by Carrington and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra; visit NJArts.net/ticket-giveaways to enter the contest.
