It was announced last week that the Dec. 23 Hope Concert at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank would be moving up from 8 p.m. to 7 p.m. And now we know why: A second show, titled “… And Even More Hope,” has been added for 9:30 p.m.
The shows will feature Bobby Bandiera and Friends, and Jon Bon Jovi, Southside Johnny, Gary U.S. Bonds and John Cafferty will be among the participants.
This is the eighth Hope Concert, but also marks the first time the fundraiser has been presented at two times, like this.
Money raised from the second show will go to Mary’s Place by the Sea in Ocean Grove, which supports women during and after cancer treatment.
The first show will raise money for 180 Turning Lives Around (which provides services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault), the Visiting Nurse Association Health Group, and the Red Bank Borough Middle School’s new arts initiative (in collaboration with the Basie) to bring the arts to every child.
Tickets to the second show, priced from $50 to $500, go on sale Nov. 13 at noon; visit thebasie.org.
DEC. 14 UPDATE: Deborah Harry has been added to the lineup, the Count Basie Theatre has announced via a tweet:
