Brian Fallon, who recently played four shows at Crossroads in Garwood, will hit a considerably bigger New Jersey venue on March 12, headlining at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville. Tickets for the show, which is being billed as Brian Fallon and the Crowes, go on sale Dec. 17 at noon; visit starlandballroom.com for information.

Fallon’s band, The Gaslight Anthem, announced an indefinite hiatus earlier this year, and Fallon, who previously fronted side groups the Horrible Crowes and Molly & Zombies, has put together a kind of all-star group from his previous projects, for his first solo tour. The Crowes will feature Alex Rosamilia of The Gaslight Anthem, Ian Perkins of The Horrible Crowes, and Catherine Popper of Molly & the Zombies.

Fallon’s debut album, Painkillers, will be released on March 11, and the album’s lead single, “A Wonderful Life,” is out already. It’s not a radical departure from the sound and sensibility his fans would expect from his work in The Gaslight Anthem.

His tour begins Jan. 7 in Portland, Me., and continues throughout at least April. There will be two New York stops: Jan. 19 at the Studio at Webster Hall, and March 9 at Irving Plaza.
