Charlie Puth performs at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, April 8.

Charlie Puth, a former student at the Count Basie Theatre’s Performing Arts Academy, will return to the Red Bank theater as a headliner on April 8.

Puth, a 24-year-old Rumson native, has not released his debut album yet — he’s finished recording one, though, called Nine Track Mind, and it will be released on Jan. 29. But he was one of the biggest breakout stars of 2015 via his No. 1 collaboration with Wiz Khalifa, “See You Again,” plus his Top 40 hits “Marvin Gaye” (a duet with Meghan Trainor) and “One Call Away.” All three songs will be on Nine Track Mind.

Tickets, priced at $25, go on sale at noon Jan. 22; visit TheBasie.org.

The Red Bank show is the final date of a five-week tour that will begin March 3 in San Francisco, and that will also come to Webster Hall in New York, April 7. Visit CharliePuth.com/tour.
