DAVID BOWIE, 1947-2016

Earlier today, I did a post compiling videos of New Jersey artists who have paid tribute to David Bowie since his Jan. 10 death by covering his songs.

But obviously, lots of artists of all kinds have been covering Bowie songs for many years.

So here is Part 2: a compilation of some of the Bowie covers that New Jersey musicians — everyone from Bon Jovi to Phish, Blondie and Danzig — have performed in the past.

If you know of any others, please let me know in the comments section, below, and I’ll add them.

“Heroes,” Bon Jovi

“The Man Who Sold the World,” Richard Barone, with Tony Visconti

“Ziggy Stardust,” Jack Skuller

John Eddie did a great version of Suffragette City in Asbury Park in 1986. It was an outdoor concert that was broadcast live on WNEW-FM. Southside Johnny and Bricklin also performed. You can find it here:

1986… long before everyone carried around their own personal video recording device. :)
