Following a successful two-night stand early this week at Madison Square Garden, and two days before a show at the Prudential Center in Newark, Fleetwood Mac has announced that it will be extending its tour, and coming back to both New York and New Jersey.
The 28 additional dates will include a show at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Jan. 24, as well as return engagements at Madison Square Garden, Jan. 22, and the Prudential Center, Feb. 8.
I reviewed the first Madison Square Garden show for the Record/NorthJersey.com, and was thoroughly impressed. The band seemed re-energized — more than I thought possible — by the return of singer-keyboardist Christine McVie, a key part of their classic ’70s lineup who is returning to the road with them for the first time in 16 years.
The band didn’t perform any new material, though members said they are working on a new album, so it looks like this reunion will last for a while.
Tickets for the new Newark show go on sale Oct. 20 at 10 a.m., with a presale at 10 a.m. Oct. 13, through Ticketmaster. The Boardwalk Hall show has the same on-sale times.
