Remember Jones will record a live album, March 4 at the Strand Theater in Lakewood.

Over the past year, I’ve seen Remember Jones present great shows devoted to Joe Cocker’ Mad Dogs and Englishmen double album and Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black. Now, he and his collaborators are offering to perform any album you choose — as long as you pay for it.

As part of an Indiegogo campaign to help him raise money to record a live album March 4 at the Strand Theater in Lakewood, he is offering, for anyone willing to donate $15,000, a full band performance of an album of the donor’s choosing. That’s right: Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, or Oops! … I Did It Again, or Swordfishtrombones … anything you want. And for just $10,000, you can purchase a reprise performance of Mad Dogs, Back to Black or the other similar shows Remember Jones has done in the past (R. Kelly’s Trapped in the Closet, Jeff Buckley’s Grace).

There have been no takers on either offer so far. However, as of the night of Feb. 22, 181 people had made smaller donations, and the campaign, which closes a week from now, had raised close to $13,000 (77 percent of its $16,667 goal).

For information, visit Indiegogo.com.

Admission to the March 4 concert/recording session is being offered to all donors. According to a message on the Indiegogo page, on that day …

There will be a horn section, string section, choir, full rhythm section, flute, vibes, and more to record brand new, never before heard, original material. FINALLY! A few of those will be in true Remember Jones style, taking a song you’ve heard before and completely spinning it, like many notorious vocalists in the past. You will get to be a part of the audience, hear yourself on the recording, and see exactly how a band of this size gets recorded!
