The One River School of Art + Design in Englewood, which I wrote about earlier this month, has announced a “strategic franchise initiative,” with the goal of adding 100 locations across the country over the next five years.
The school — which offers classes for both children and adults, and also exhibits work by up-and-coming artists — was founded in 2012 by Matt Ross, former CEO of the School of Rock, with the ambitious goal of changing art education in America.
“My mission is to create the next generation of great artists and to flatten the misunderstanding of contemporary art,” he said in a press release. “We’re serving a variety of needs in our local community and really thriving. Now is the time to spread that success to communities across the country.”
Like the School of Rock, One River focuses on fun, interactive instruction, and looks for opportunities for its students to display their talent in the community.
