Kenny Chesney will headline at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Aug. 20, but his next Jersey show will actually be at a greatly smaller venue, in May. He’ll perform at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, on May 12.
The problem is, you’ll need an extreme amount of luck to get in, and must be a SiriusXM satellite radio subscriber. Chesney launched his own SiriusXM channel this week (“No Shoes Radio,” on channel 62) and will be giving away tickets via call-in and email contests for subscribers, as well through an online contest.
Chesney is planning to release a new album, Some Town Somewhere, on July 8.
Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt and Old Dominion will also perform at MetLife Stadium.
Chesney previously brought tours to the stadium from 2011 to 2013, and last year. His 2015 show there drew 58,642 attendees, the most ever for a country concert in New Jersey.
