Comedian Lisa Lampanelli will appear both onstage and onscreen at the first Indie Street Film Festival, taking place July 6-10 at various Red Bank venues. The documentary “Can We Take a Joke?” — featuring her and other entertainers such as Gilbert Gottfried, Penn Jillette and Adam Carolla, and exploring the phenomenon of boundary-pushing comedy and the moral outrage it provokes — will be shown at the Count Basie Theatre July 8 at 7 p.m., after which Lampanelli will perform standup comedy.

The festival’s opening night film, which will be shown July 6 at 7 p.m. at the Basie, is “Morris From America,” a narrative film about a 13-year-old aspiring rapper who moves from the United States to Germany.

“Chosen,” a World War II drama starring Harvey Keitel, will have its world premiere at Bow Tie Cinemas, July 8 at 8 p.m.

“After Sandy,” screening July 8 at 4 p.m at Two River Theater, is a documentary about the aftermath of the 2012 superstorm in New Jersey.

“Hotel Dallas,” screening July 8 at 7 p.m. at Two River Theater, is an unconventional documentary about the strong interest in the TV series “Dallas,” in Romania.

Overall, 75 films — including both full-length features and short films — will be shown. For a complete list of films, panel discussions, parties and other festival events, visit indiestreetfilmfestival.org.
