BOBBY BANDIERA
Bob Dylan and The Beatles have been the subject of countless tribute shows over the years. But Bobby Bandiera and his Jersey Shore Rock n’ Soul Revue will salute Dylan and The Beatles’ George Harrison in a different way, April 22 at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, with a tribute to the Traveling Wilburys.

The Wilburys, of course, were a group that Dylan and Harrison formed with Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne (of the Electric Light Orchestra) in the ’80s. They released an album, Traveling Wilburys, Vol. 1, in 1988, and after Orbison died later that year, Dylan, Harrison, Petty and Lynne released a followup album, Traveling Wilburys, Vol. 3, in 1990. They never released any other recordings, or performed live.
The show will include songs from both albums, as well as other songs written or recorded by the five.
“The Traveling Wilburys were perhaps the greatest classic-rock super group of all time,” says Bandiera the show description on the theater’s web site. “That these musicians accomplished so much individually, and yet came together to create two unforgettable powerhouse albums, is a testament to their importance in the world of rock and roll. I am honored to pay tribute to a band and its members, all of which contributed so much great music in my lifetime”
Bandiera is also organizing the charitable Hope Concert 9 at the Basie, Dec. 23.
