Old friends James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt will join forces for a tour this summer that will begin at the Prudential Center in Newark, July 6. Both will bring their own bands and play separate sets, though a collaboration at some point in the show is, obviously, also possible.
Tickets, priced from $41 to $151, go on sale March 10 at 10 a.m.; visit Ticketmaster or prucenter.com.
Other Northeast shows will include the Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, N.Y., July 7; the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, July 9; and Fenway Park in Boston, Aug. 11.
Raitt released a new studio album, Dig in Deep, last year, while Taylor’s last one was Before This World, in 2015.
Here is a video of Taylor and Raitt performing together on “Thing Called Love” — a John Hiatt-written song that was a hit for Raitt in 1989 — at Fenway Park in 2015.
