Steven Van Zandt and his Disciples of Soul will perform at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, May 27

Now that his two appearances at the Asbury Park Music and Film Festival are over, Little Steven has scheduled a show for his reassembled Disciples of Soul band at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank.

It will take place on May 27. Tickets, priced from $39 to $89 ($150 for VIPs tickets that include admission to meet-and-greet), go on sale April 28 at noon; visit TheBasie.org. All tickets will include a physical copy of Soulfire, the album that Van Zandt will release on May 19.

According to a press release, “Citi cardmembers and Count Basie Theatre members will have first access to tickets, including $150 VIP tickets which include a pre-show meet and greet and photograph with Van Zandt, and a signed copy of Soulfire.”

The show is part of the Citi Presents Little Steven’s Underground Garage at The Basie series, which Van Zandt and his wife Maureen (who are both members of the theater’s board of trustees) are curating, and which will raise money for the Basie’s current expansion project.

“The Basie originally was my local theater growing up, where I saw ‘A Hard Day’s Night,’ ‘ The Nutty Professor,’ and ‘Bye Bye Birdie,’ ” Van Zandt said in a press release. “Now it’s one of my favorite venues.”

“Maureen and I were honored to be asked to be on the board, and help with the Basie’s transformation into a performing arts and education center, which will include the first Little Steven’s Underground Garage club.”

He also said that the Basie concert “will probably be our only show in the U.S. until the fall.” He and the band will be touring in Europe this summer.
