Tommy James, who was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame last week, will be further honored with a guest-filled “50th Anniversary Celebration Concert” at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, June 2 at 7:30 p.m.
Joan Jett, who had a hit with a cover of James’ “Crimson and Clover” in 1982, will make a guest appearance, as will The Cowsills, Alive N’ Kickin’, Paul Shaffer and Kate Taylor. Gene Cornish (of The Rascals) and Bobby Bandiera will team up for an opening set, and legendary disc jockey Cousin Brucie will host.
This is a free concert, sponsored by the Garden State Arts Foundation, and no tickets are required.
James, 70, had his first hit with his band The Shondells, “Hanky Panky,” about 50 years ago (in 1966).
