Little Steven’s Count Basie Theatre concert will be broadcast live on satellite radio

A Little Steven & the Disciples of Soul show at the Count Basie Theatre will be broadcast via satellite radio and a virtual reality app.

Little Steven Van Zandt will broadcast his May 27 concert at the Count Basie Theatre live on his own SiriusXM satellite radio channel, Underground Garage (channel 21).

The Red Bank show (during which he will be backed by his Disciples of Soul band) and the broadcast are scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. But there also will be a pre-show broadcast, beginning at 6 p.m., featuring Van Zandt along with DJ Rich Russo, Handsome Dick Manitoba of The Dictators, and Palmyra Delran.

There also will be a rebroadcast, May 29 at 11 a.m.

Additionally, there will be a free virtual reality broadcast, through the NextVR app.

According to a press release:

Fans with a Samsung Gear VR headset or Google Daydream, along with a compatible smartphone, can experience the concert live by downloading the NextVR app from the Oculus store for GearVR or the Google Play store for Daydream. Fans can go to nextvr.com for additional details on the concert and nextvr.com to learn how to get started.

Little Steven released a new album, Soulfire, on May 19.
