Every year at the annual Winter Antiques Show in New York, you can see objects from scores of dealers, vetted for authenticity, plus a loan exhibition from a prominent museum.
This year’s loan exhibition will be made up of pieces from the Newark Museum. “Ahead of the Curve: The Newark Museum, 1909-2015,” featuring selections from the museum’s American, Asian, African, Ancient Mediterranean and Native American collections, can be seen at the show, which will be at the Park Avenue Armory from Jan. 23 to Feb. 1.
Proceeds from the antiques show benefit the East Side House Settlement, which provides education and technology training to students in the South Bronx.
There will be 73 exhibitors at this year’s edition of the show, which has been presented annually since 1955. Special events include an Opening Night Party on Jan. 22 and a Young Collectors Night on Jan. 29.
