The Misfits will perform at The Prudential Center in Newark, May 19.

Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only, co-founders of the influential Jersey-bred horror-punk band The Misfits, will reunite for a May 19 concert at the Prudential Center in Newark. They will be billed as The Original Misfits, and Suicidal Tendencies and Murphy’s Law will open.

Tickets will go on sale Feb. 2, with pre-sales starting Jan. 30 at 10 a.m.; visit prucenter.com or Ticketmaster.

The band, originally formed in Lodi, celebrated its 40th anniversary last year. The Newark show is being billed as their only area appearance.

Singer Danzig and bassist Only also reunited for concerts in Chicago and Denver in 2016, and in Los Angeles and Las Vegas in 2017. They were joined at those shows by guitarists Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein and Acey Slade, and drummer Dave Lombardo.

Danzig left the group in 1983 and went on to have more commercial success with his own group, Danzig, which released two Top 40 albums — How the Gods Kill and Danzig 4 — in the ’90s.
