HARRY CONNICK
Harry Connick Jr. will appear in the world premiere musical production of “The Sting” that will be presented at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, March 29 to April 29, the theater has announced.
The production will be based on the hit 1973 film “The Sting,” which co-starred Paul Newman and Robert Redford as two con men in 1936 Chicago, and won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Connick will play Henry Gondorff, the character portrayed by Newman.
The book to the musical was written by Bob Martin, with music and lyrics by Mar Hollmann and Greg Kotis, with Connick. The production will also include music by Scott Joplin, including “The Entertainer,” the ragtime piece that was adapted by Marvin Hamlisch for the film, and became a Top 10 hit single.
John Rando will direct the Paper Mill production, with choreography by Warren Carlyle.

In addition to being a popular musician, Connick has done a lot of acting and has been nominated for Tonys both as an actor (for “The Pajama Game,” in 2006) and a composer (for “Thou Shalt Not,” in 2002).
