Kendrick Lamar — who became, today, the first hip-hop artist to win the Pulitzer Prize in Music — will headline this year’s edition of the annual Hot 97-sponsored Summer Jam concert at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.
Lil Wayne, A$AP Ferg, Tory Lanez, Swizz Beatz & Friends, Remy Ma, Rich the Kid, Bobby & Jabba (with Aidonia, Kranium and Konshens), Megan Ryte & Friends, A Boogie and Hood Celebrityy will also perform on the the main stage at night, June 10, while Famous Dex, Jay Critch, Don Q and Snoopy Dinero will perform on the festival stage outside the stadium, in the afternoon.
The Pulitzer Prize in Music had previously been given only to classical and jazz artists. Lamar won for his 2017 album DAMN., which, according to the Pulitzer board, is “A virtuosic song collection unified by its vernacular authenticity and rhythmic dynamism that offers affecting vignettes capturing the complexity of modern African-American life.”
Summer Jam tickets go on sale April 20 at 10 a.m., with pre-sales starting April 17; visit hot97.com/summerjam.
