After a Dec. 2 article in The Times of London led many to believe that an E Street Band tour was possible or probable in 2019, Bruce Springsteen has taken an unusual step by releasing a statement to the contrary on his web site, BruceSpringsteen.net, and social media.
The statement reads:
“Just a note to quell some of the rumors over here on E Street. While we hope to be back with you soon, the E Street Band won’t be touring in 2019. Before I go back to my day job, the year will be consumed with a break after our Broadway run and various recording projects I’ve been working on. We do hope to see you soon, and until then, we have some mighty E Streeters out there regularly performing with their own projects who’d love and deserve your support. All love and Happy Holidays!”
The “Springsteen on Broadway” soundtrack album will be released on Dec. 14, the last “Springsteen on Broadway” show will be on Dec. 15, and it will debut as a Netflix special Dec. 16 at 12:01 a.m. PT (3:01 a.m. ET). Look for a review of the Netflix special on NJArts.net on Dec. 7.
Nick Rufford, the author of the Times article, wrote that Springsteen would be touring with the E Street Band “in the next few months,” though he did not include a direct quote saying that.

Classy that he threw a nod to the rest of the guys that are out there performing….which is the best part of the entire B.S. and the e street band experience.
