‘The New Jersey Hall of Fame’ was a category on ‘Jeopardy!’
“The New Jersey Hall of Fame” was a category in the first round of the long-running television game show, “Jeopardy!,” tonight. Here are the five clues and, at the bottom of the page, the answers.
$200: “Sitting Bull called her ‘Little Sure Shot’ in the 19th Century. New Jersey called her Hall-worthy in the 21st.”
$400: “This ex-‘Daily Show’ host was born in New York City, but was raised in New Jersey, part of ‘The great Jewish emigration of 1963.’ ”
$600 (daily double): “Alphabetically, this early American pamphleteer immediately preceded Joe Piscopo as 2013 honorees.”
$800: “The 2016 induction ceremony could have been called ‘Live With This Female Honoree From Camden County.’ ”
$1,000: “This 19th century author and creator of Natty Bumppo got the call in 2015.”
The contestants, none of whom was from New Jersey, got all the questions right except for the daily double (set at $2,000 by the contestant who chose the category).
The New Jersey Hall of Fame, now in its 11th year, will have its first permanent home at the American Dream retail and entertainment complex in East Rutherford, starting next year. The hall’s new location will be more than 16,000 square feet and feature both a virtual reality theater and a hologram theater.
Current inductees include Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Bruce Springsteen, Frank Sinatra, Meryl Streep, Paul Robeson, Philip Roth and Woodrow Wilson. This year’s inductees will be named in late February. Nominees include Chris Rock, Whoopi Goldberg, Samuel Alito, The Smithereens, Patti Smith, Anthony Bourdain, Harry Carson, Stephen Crane, George R.R. Martin, Gay Talese, Anne Hathaway, Jason Alexander and Paul Tagliabue.
