The Farrelly Brothers will appear at the Asbury Park Music and Film Festival, April 28.
Bobby and Peter Farrelly, the writing and directing duo behind comedy hits such as “Dumb and Dumber,” “There’s Something About Mary,” “Kingpin” and “Shallow Hal” (Peter also co-wrote last year’s “Green Book”), will make an appearance at the fifth annual Asbury Park Music and Film Festival, April 28 at 7 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre. In an event titled “An Evening With the Farrelly Brothers, they will talk about their career and take questions.
Other attractions at the festival, which is scheduled for April 25-28, will include:
• “The Gary U.S. Bonds Unusually Big Birthday Bash” with special guests Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers, April 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre. Rock legend Bonds will turn 80 on June 6.
• “Dylan Archives IV,” April 28 at 11:30 a.m. at House of Independents. This regular part of the APMFF features film and video clips — some never before shown in public, others rarely seen — from the archives of the Bob Dylan Center in Tulsa, with live commentary by Dylan’s manager Jeff Rosen, an APMFF board member. • “The Music of Bruce Springsteen for Kids,” presented by the Rock and Roll Playhouse at The Stone Pony, April 28 at 11 a.m. (Tickets go on sale via Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. Feb. 19.)
• Punk rock band Hot Water Music, with Iron Chic and Crime in Stereo, April 27 at 8 p.m. and April 28 at 7 p.m. at House of Independents. The band will play their album No Division (1999) in its entirety on the first night, and Caution (2002) in its entirety on the second night.
• Rapper-singer Jake Miller, with Logan Henderson and Just Seconds Apart, at House of Independents, April 26 at 7 p.m.
Proceeds from the festival will be used to support music education via The Hope Academy, The Hip Hop Institute and The Asbury Park Summer Recreation Music Camp.
