The Rolling Stones have announced opening acts for their upcoming North American tour.

The British band The Wombats will open The Rolling Stones’ Aug. 1 concert at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, and Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real will do the same on Aug. 5.

Lukas Nelson (Willie Nelson’s son) and Promise of the Real formed more than a decade ago and, for the last four years, have worked with Neil Young a lot, backing him both in the recording studio and on tour.

As you can see from the illustration to the right, different opening acts are being used in virtually every city of the upcoming tour, including Gary Clark Jr. in Foxborough, Mass., July 7; The Revivalists in Jacksonville, July 19; Bishop Gunn in Houston, July 27; and Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats in Denver, Aug. 10.

The 17-show tour begins June 21 in Chicago, with St. Paul & the Broken Bones opening. The last show is in Miami, Aug. 31, with Juanes opening.

The New Jersey dates were originally scheduled for June 13 and 17 but were postponed to allow time for Mick Jagger to recover from heart surgery.

The Rolling Stones’ last New Jersey shows were in 2012, at the Prudential Center in Newark.
