Heart’s Love Alive Tour, which comes to the BB&T Pavilion in Camden on Aug. 2, has added another leg, and will now also include a concert at the Prudential Center in Newark on Sept. 27. Tickets for Newark go on sale June 21 at noon, with presales beginning June 18 at 10 a.m. Visit ticketmaster.com.
Joan Jett & the Blackhearts will be opening in Newark. Both Jett and Elle King are opening in Camden.
The tour is Heart’s first in three years, and is named after a song from their 1977 Little Queen album. It begins on July 9, in St. Louis.
Sisters Ann Wilson, on vocals, and Nancy Wilson, on guitar and vocals, will be joined by guitarist Craig Bartock, bassist Dan Rothchild, keyboardist Chris Joyner and drummer Ben Smith.
“I think the tour will spark some positive new energy as we rediscover some of our iconic songs and also some fan favorites,” said Nancy Wilson, in a press release. “Calling the tour ‘Love Alive’ was something Ann and I felt instantly good about. We have always had many love-themed mottos along the way like ‘Love Rules,’ ‘Love Wins,’ ‘Love is IT’ — and of course it’s a very cool song as well.”
“Both Nancy and I have stretched our wings in life these last three years,” said Ann Wilson. “We’ve both lived and loved. We have breathed and traveled and experienced life. We come to this tour with fresh energy and oxygen.”
