It was a rare Springsteen surprise-guest double-header at the outdoor Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, July 6. First, The Boss joined E Street Band bassist Garry Tallent for one song, “Dirty Rotten Shame,” when Tallent did his opening set for Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes. Then he returned, at night, for an epic seven-song guest set with the Southside and the Jukes.

“Come out here, Boss man,” Southside said before their first song, “Sherry Darling.”

Here are the songs Springsteen, wearing a Yankees baseball cap, did with Southside (who was thoroughly drenched in sweat on this hot July night) and the Jukes, as well as “Dirty Rotten Shame,” below that. A million thanks to Stan Goldstein for posting the videos to Youtube!
