Steven Van Zandt has announced plans for reissues of his work outside the E Street Band from the ’70s to the ’90s.

Steven Van Zandt has announced the upcoming release of a lavish boxed set documenting his work outside the E Street Band from 1973 to 1999. There will be a limited-edition boxed set featuring remastered vinyl versions of his six albums from those years plus four CDs featuring 51 bonus tracks (outtakes, B-sides, rehearsals, concert recordings, etc.).

Each album will be released digitally, with bonus tracks included, leading up to the Dec. 6 release of the boxed set, which will be titled RockNRoll Rebel – The Early Work.

“It’s been a blast going through the archives and finding all these hidden gems,” said Van Zandt in a press release. “In addition to demos in various stages of completion, there are entire songs I’d completely forgotten about, and we found some really early things pre-Jukes like Southside Johnny and the Kid (the kid being me!). I’m excited to have my stuff back on vinyl for the first time in decades!”

The albums to be re-released are Men Without Women (1982), Voice of America (1983), Artists United Against Apartheid: Sun City (1985), No Compromise (1987), Revolution (1989) and Born Again Savage (1999).

In conjunction with this, Van Zandt has also put together a 144-page book with liner notes, lyrics, stories and previously unreleased photos.
