Dead & Company — which features three Grateful Dead members and plays songs from The Dead’s vast catalog — will perform at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale Feb. 14 at 10 a.m.; visit ticketmaster.com.
Dead singer-guitarist Bob Weir and drummers Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart are joined in the band by singer-guitarist John Mayer, basseil Oteil Burbridge and keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. The six started performing as Dead & Company in 2015.
This is one of 17 concerts the band has announced for this year. The tour starts July 10 at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colo., and ends Aug. 8 at Fenway Park in Boston.
This will be the band’s first show at MetLife Stadium. The Grateful Dead itself performed at the original Meadowlands stadium, Giants Stadium, 14 times between 1978 and 1995.
