One of New Jersey’s biggest annual music festivals, the XPoNential Music Festival at the BB&T Pavilion and Wiggins Park in Camden, has been canceled.
The July 31-Aug. 2 event had been scheduled to feature Norah Jones, Nathaniel Rateliff, Mavis Staples, Grace Potter, Citizen Cope, The New Pornographers, Son Volt and others.
The event is produced by Philadelphia radio station WXPN. “We are heartbroken, and we know the artists, our members, business supporters, volunteers, and long-time attendees of this event are, too,” said WXPN general manager Roger LaMay, in a press release. “However, given the magnitude of the current health crisis, we know this is the right thing to do.
“We are committed to our community and are working on new ways to connect artists and audiences on the radio, online and eventually even in-person with social distancing.”
According to the press release, ticketholders are being contacted regarding refunds.
