Federico Uribe, whose “Animalia” exhibition had been scheduled to run through June 21 at the Montclair Art Museum, will be the first featured participant in the museum’s MAM Conversations series.
The talk will take place June 11 and be followed by talks with Philemona Williamson, June 18; Tom Nussbaum, June 25; Virgil Ortiz and Tish Agoyo, July 2; and Willie Cole, July 9, with more talks to follow.
With the museum closed because of the pandemic, the online series is temporarily taking the place of the museum’s annual Julia Norton Babson Memorial Lecture and is funded, in part, by a gift from the Julia Norton Babson Memorial Fund.
According to a press release, the series “will give you the unique opportunity to virtually engage with contemporary artists, see their studio spaces, and learn more about their work through a Q & A session.”
The talks will take place at 6 p.m. via Zoom Webinars, and are free for MAM members ($10 for non-members).
The museum is currently offering memberships on a two years for the price of one basis.
