The ninth annual Montclair Film Festival, originally scheduled for May but postponed because of the coronavirus crisis, will take place Oct. 16-25, with a combination of drive-in and online events.
The schedule will be announced on Oct. 2, with tickets becoming available to Montclair Film members on Oct. 5, and to the general public on Oct. 8.
“Back in March, we intentionally postponed the festival and did not cancel, because we knew then that, with a little time and patience, we could explore new opportunities and learn from the changes taking place in the industry and our community,” said Montclair Film executive director Tom Hall, in a press release. “As the festival continues to take shape, we’re confident we can deliver an exciting, vibrant event. We look forward to sharing our full plans soon.”
Montclair Film presented drive-in movies at Montclair State University in June, and has three scheduled for West Orange, July 24-26. It is also currently presenting classes and screenings online.
