“Bruce Springsteen’s Letter to You” film, for which an Oct. 23 release had been planned, has instead been released early (Oct. 22). It is viewable now on Apple TV+.
At 7:04 a.m. this morning, Springsteen’s Twitter account tweeted, “Alright, E Streeters … enough waiting! @AppleTV, how about we release #LetterToYouFilm a little early?”
Then, two minutes later, the account tweeted, “Let’s do this thing! 1… 2… 1, 2, 3…”
The Apple TV Twitter account responded, a minute later, by tweeting, “4! Bruce @Springsteen’s #LetterToYouFilm is available early, now on Apple TV+ http://apple.co/LetterToYouFilm.”
You can see the tweets below.
The speed with which Apple TV responded — and the almost immediate appearance of the graphic, above, saying “Out Now” — suggest that this was all planned out beforehand. But whatever. The film is available now, and that is what matters.
Directed by Thom Zimny, “Bruce Springsteen’s Letter to You” is a documentary about the making of The Boss’ new album, recorded in the studio with Springsteen and the E Street Band.
Springsteen’s Letter to You album will still be released on Oct. 23.
