Paul Simon made an appearance at Princeton University on Tuesday.

Paul Simon appeared at the Richardson Auditorium at Princeton University on Tuesday, in a public conversation with poet and professor Paul Muldoon. To read about the entire event, check out this article on DailyPrincetonian.com — and it really is worth reading, for anyone with even the slightest interest in Simon. But to just hear him singing a solo acoustic version of one of his signature songs at the event — the 1965 Simon & Garfunkel hit, “The Sound of Silence” — see the video below.

Simon is technically a New Jersey native, having been born in Newark, but his family moved away when he was still an infant, and he grew up in Queens, N.Y.

New Jersey celebrated its 350th birthday in 2014. And in the 350 Jersey Songs series, we marked the occasion by posting 350 songs — one a day, from September 2014 to September 2015 — that have something to do with the state, its musical history, or both. To see the entire list, click here.
