Montclair Film advisory board member Stephen Colbert will discuss the organization with his wife, Montclair Film board of trustees president Evelyn Colbert, in an online fundraiser, May 7. For details and ticket information, visit montclairfilm.org.
According to the site, the event, which is titled “The Future of Montclair Film” and will celebrate the organization’s 10th anniversary, will feature the two in “a fun, virtual conversation to reflect upon 10 years of film + storytelling.” Also, Montclair Film executive director Tom Hall will share some “exciting news” about the organization’s future, the site says.
Montclair Film has not yet announced details about the next edition of its annual festival, so it would not be surprising if that were the news.
Over the last decade, Stephen Colbert has presented a series of annual in-person conversations with celebrities such as Meryl Streep, Jon Stewart and Jimmy Fallon as fundraisers for Montclair Film. The last one was with Julia Louis-Dreyfus at NJPAC in Newark in December 2019; there was no event last year because of the pandemic.
The Colberts have lived in Montclair since 2000.
Montclair Film presents screenings and other events year-round, in addition to the festival. For more information, visit montclairfilm.org.
