Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, whose Tedeschi Trucks Band has streamed video shows titled “Fireside Sessions” during the pandemic, will present socially distanced “Fireside Live” concerts at the Appel Farm Arts and Music Center in Elmer on July 18, and the Suneagles Golf Club in Eatontown, July 20-21. Pre-sales begin April 21 at 10 a.m., with the general on-sale April 23 at 10 a.m.
The shows will feature some but not all Tedeschi Trucks Band members and the group will be billed as Tedeschi Trucks “as a nod to their band members who are unable to join the tour because of the challenging conditions with the current pandemic,” according to a press release.
The tour is currently scheduled to last from early June to late July. “These live appearances will offer a rare, possibly one-of-a-kind experience for fans to enjoy until the extended band can return in its full 12-piece form as soon as safety permits,” said Tedeschi and Trucks on Facebook.
The Suneagles shows are part of a series that is being presented by the Count Basie Center for the Arts. The concerts will begin May 14-15 with Bobby Bandiera’s Tom Petty tribute, titled “Runnin’ Down a Dream”; also going on sale this week for this venue are comedian Mike Birbiglia, May 23; Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra Septet, May 28; and David Clark’s Billy Joel tribute, titled “Songs From the Attic,” Aug. 19.
